Faith like Coffee
- BOLD & STRONG -
Romans 12:1-2
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Why Faith like Coffee?
God calls Christians to be different from the rest of the world. Through relationship and faith in Him, we are called to a renewal of our minds and to be transformed. Nevertheless, life is often difficult, and the pressures of the world are like a pot of boiling water. The world can be a cruel, stressful, and difficult place. We find ourselves in environments and conditions that test who we truly are. If we allow it, the world (the pot of boiling water) will change us, but not if we are like coffee.
Coffee isn’t transformed by the water; the water is completely transformed by the coffee. The water now looks, smells, and tastes different. It has been completely transformed and it can never be like it was before.
We once were in the world, but in Christ we have been transformed.
Our faith should be like coffee – bold and strong. A faith that doesn’t weaken or conforms to the world, but rather one that transforms the world like coffee transforms water.
